People often ask us what we do all day living in a desert oasis in a remote part of the Sahara, as if we just sit around all day on a giant pile of sand twiddling our thumbs in the shade of a palm tree. The reality is life here is incredible busy, active and unbelievably sociable...

Our closest neighbors are about a 15 minute walk and inside their farm they have a traditional Egyptian mud built pigeon house. After noticing that their baby pigeons were going missing en mass, they decide to inspect, discovering a falcon's nest high up in the structure.

About Camilla

Camilla has been barefoot free-range living since 2006 in an organic garden farm, in a remote tribal oasis in the Sahara desert. She is originally from London and lives with her family in Siwa, where all her three children were born.
